Shavasana is one of the most important, yet also one of the most challenging poses in yoga. In a world where we are used to rushing and trying to do everything, allowing ourselves simply to lie down and relax can feel almost like a luxury.
What Shavasana offers: This is a pose of deep rest and conscious relaxation for both body and mind. By practicing it, you help your body recover, release tension, balance the nervous system, and fill yourself with inner peace. Over time, fatigue, stress, insomnia, and even depressive states give way to lightness and harmony.
Practice tip: Just 10–15 minutes a day can become your oasis of silence. Lie down comfortably, close your eyes, and turn your attention inward. If thoughts arise during Shavasana, observe them as clouds in the sky—let them pass by without holding on. With each exhale, imagine the sea washing away footprints in the sand, cleansing the shore of your consciousness.
It’s important to remember: Shavasana is not sleep. But if you fall asleep during your first sessions, that’s perfectly normal. In time, you’ll learn to remain in a state of conscious rest. Shavasana teaches us the most important lesson—to simply be, without demanding anything from ourselves or the world.
