Sinus congestion and allergies are very common conditions.

The nasal sinuses are air-filled cavities within the skull and facial bones, lined with a thin mucous membrane. They are part of the respiratory system and connect the nose to the throat. These cavities help filter and purify the air that passes through the nose and into the lungs.

The sinuses are closely connected to the brain, so it is extremely important to keep them clean and prevent infections.

They are located throughout the face and even toward the back of the head — on both sides of the nostrils, above the eyebrows, and along the inner surface of the eyes.

Regardless of the cause of nasal congestion, it is recommended to perform specific practices that help reduce swelling and remove excess fluid from the face. During these practices, it is beneficial to consciously swallow saliva — this stimulates the lymphatic system and promotes body cleansing.
