Today I came across a mantra that immediately captured my attention and my heart: Hummee Hum Brahm Hum.
Translated from Sanskrit, it means: “I am Absolute Consciousness.” In other words, it’s a gentle reminder that all the answers lie within us — a recognition of our true nature.
If you’re familiar with the chakra system, you may know that the sound “Hum” is connected to the Vishuddha chakra — the throat center responsible for self-expression, truth, voice, and the connection between body and spirit. This mantra works powerfully on this energy center.
If you often feel afraid to speak your truth, suppress your thoughts, or carry shame or fear around self-expression, practicing with this mantra can help you find the courage and freedom to be your authentic self.
How to Practice:
- Sit comfortably, close your eyes, and take a few deep breaths to relax
- Imagine stepping into a safe inner space of trust and ease
- Focus on your throat and visualize a glowing blue wheel of energy — your fifth chakra
- Begin chanting the mantra softly, aloud, or silently in your mind. You can also simply listen to it and observe the vibrations in your throat and chest
- Feel the blue light growing brighter as your inner self becomes stronger and more confident
Stay in this state as long as you need.
